I am worried about this too, I have looked quite far back through the reviews and it's seems something that crops up over and over, so I am actually concerned there is some truth in it.
A girl at work said her parents visited Cuba last year and hated it as there was prostitutes blatantly on the resort, I am going to ask her to find out where they went. Have visited Cuba frequently over time and can confirm that this is an ongoing situation as it is in the Dom. However, unlike some British cities and I guess, some Canadian ones too , the girls do not dress so obviously and, again in our experience, they do not solicit assertively.
These are third world countries and even low paid jobs in the hotels are sought after like gold dust. The point I would make is that denying yourself a holiday there because of this would make shooting yourself in the foot look sensible. We are going to the Luna yet again next month.
They have had complaints about this previously and have dealt with them. For my part I have not been able to differentiate these girls from fellow guests and I would have no reason for wanting to.
Thanks, things like this also make me worry about leaving my possesions on the beach while we go snorkelling etc. Does the beach generally feel safe.
